2008 -09 Writing Competition

 

The OFOL Short Story competition is for short stories of 2,000 to 2,500 words, previously unpublished and not entered into a competition prior to the closing date.

 

It is open to any UK resident, with no age restriction.

 

The closing date is 1st November, 2008.

 

The results and presentations are scheduled for March 2009.

 

The entry fee for adults is £5 but those born after 1st September 1990 are eligible to enter free of charge.

 

The first prize is £100

 

Those shortlisted entries will be judged by one or more established writers.

 

Entries must be submitted in English.

 

The author's name must NOT be written on any page of the entry.

 

Entries cannot be returned.

 

There will be no communication with the judges regarding the entries and the judges' decisions are final.

 

All shortlisted entrants will be invited to a Festival event to receive their prizes from the Festival's invited speaker.

 

OFOL reserves the right not to award a prize in the event that a suitable standard has not been reached.
