Writing Competition 2010
If you like to write stories and poems in your spare time, or have written something for school work that was particularly good, why not think about submitting it to the Festival's Writing Competition? There are sections for pupils in school years 3 - 13 and generous cash prizes for first and second place winners. Make sure you check the rules below before you enter. We look forward to reading your work! The DEADLINE for submissions is 12 February 2011.

Rules
1. Entries must be the original work of the author and be unpublished and not have won any prize in any other competition.
2. Entries must be in English.
3. Short stories must not exceed 1500 words.
4. Poems must not exceed 40 lines.
5. Other prose must not exceed 1000 words (relevant only for Years 9 -13). Other prose is defined as personal writing, responses to situations and circumstances, journalism, discussion and argument. Researched work is not admissable.
6. THE AUTHOR'S NAME MUST NOT APPEAR ON THE ENTRY.
7. No acknowledgement of entry will be sent.
8. Entries will not be returned.
9. Multiple entries by the same author for the same class are permissible but a maximum of one prize will be awarded.
10. The Festival reserves the right to withhold or augment prizes.
11. The Oundle Festival of Literature reserves the right to perform, display or publish any entry. Copyright remains with the author.
12. There will be no communication with the judges regarding entries and the judges decisions are final.
