Kid Lit Programme - Gavin Puckett

5th March 2020
Venue: Great Hall, Oundle, PE8 4GH
Time: 1.30pm

(Recommended for Year 2)

As this is WORLD BOOK DAY you are welcome to come dressed as your favourite book character, we can’t wait to see all your costumes!

Gavin Puckett is a children’s author from South Wales, where he lives with his wife, young son and their beloved cat, George.

Gavin was the winner of the 2013 Greenhouse Funny Prize, and his first book Murray the Horse, the first tale in the series Fables from the Stables, was published with Faber Children’s in June 2015.

Murray the horse dreams of winning big races just like the rest of his family, but he has one problem - he's just not that fast! When horse Ned Plumb twists his ankle at the start line, his jockey spots Murray in the crowd and says, 'Fancy a race?' Murray finally gets his chance to shine and beat the neigh-sayers with a rather unusual race technique...

These stories are funny, clever, and charming – they’re written in rhyme and completely disarming!

Join Gavin as he talks about his silly horsey fables and the inspiration behind them.  With games and audience participation guaranteed, there’ll be plenty of rhyming nonsense for everyone.
