Kid Lit programme - Erika McGann

8th March 2018
Venue: The Great Hall, Oundle
Time: 1.30pm

Recommended for Year 3

The Clubhouse Mystery, the first book in her new Cass and the Bubble Street Gang series is receiving raving reviews. Cass and her best friends, Lex and Nicholas, are the Bubble Street Gang! They investigate crimes, solve mysteries and have brilliant adventures. They've even got their own secret clubhouse.

After the annoying baby twins demolish the fort Cass has built in the sitting room, she has the great idea of building a proper fort, outdoors, which can be the Bubble Street Gang's clubhouse. Lex's granny suggests the perfect spot at the back of Mr McCall's field and Cass and the gang get to work.

The gang settle in quickly and begin planning their next adventure, when they realise someone is using the clubhouse when they're not there. Stuff moves around, cookie crumbs are left behind and the door is left open. Join Cass and the Bubble Street Gang as they investigate The Clubhouse Mystery.

‘Erika McGann's mystery moves at a swift pace and has enough action and laughs to keep a young reader engaged ... the illustrations by Vince Reid are playful and enhance the narrative by capturing the relative scene beautifully’. InTouch Magazine

‘Full of fun, adventure and friendship’. Evening Echo

Erika McGann was the winner of the Waverton Good Read Children's Prize 2014 for The Demon Notebook.

Erika will be doing a very interactive talk starting with how she started writing as a child, the friends and games and fears that inspired different stories, and where Cass and the Bubble Street Gang came from. She will read from one of her books, and then play a couple of games. Come along, let’s create our own gang and have some fun!
