Emer Stamp grew up on a farm in Devon before training in graphic design and becoming the Creative Director for the advertising agency behind the John Lewis Christmas adverts. The Unbelievable Top Secret Diary of Pig is her debut novel and is inspired by the animal the family kept on the Devon farm where she grew up.
Friendly pigs are something of a children's book staple, from Dick King Smith's Babe the Sheep-Pig to Wilbur of Charlotte's Web fame. But the eponymous hero of this particular farmyard tale is far from run of the mill - for starters, he keeps his own 'top secret diary', illustrated with cartoons and doodles, where he writes about his adventures in his own hilarious, exuberant and completely ungrammatical narrative voice. This book is one of those that can be read by children and adults alike and each will get something different from it, but both will end up laughing until tears run from their eyes!
Join Emer Stamp for a glimpse inside The Unbelievable Top Secret Diary of Pig. Crammed with cartoons, evil chickens, a plot to send Pig to Pluto, and Farmer, who is feeding Pig suspiciously well. Thank goodness for Duck, his reliable friend. With live drawing and lots of laughs.
