Kid Lit programme - Alex Milway

12th March 2015
Venue: The Great Hall, Oundle School
Time: 1:45pm

Recommended for Years 1 and 2

Alex Milway has always enjoyed making up stories and, after leaving Art College, he discovered that he liked to write and illustrate them as well. His interest in furry creatures first reared its head in the The Mousehunter trilogy, where weird and wonderful mice ran riot all over the world.

In The Mythical 9th Division, the fur quota got even bigger, as he had to master the art of drawing a troop of yetis whose main purpose was to save the world.

His new series, Pigsticks and Harold, the books are about the adventures of Pigsticks, the world's most optimistic pig, and his sidekick Harold, an over-anxious hamster. Pigsticks and Harold and the Incredible Journey is the first book in this laugh out loud new series. The book features full-colour illustrations packed with visual jokes, and is ideal for children who are beginning to read confidently on their own.

Alex is now a full-time author-illustrator and he was the founder of the Crystal Palace Children's Book Festival.

We are very lucky to have Alex visiting Oundle, so come along and enjoy!
