Getting Away With It - A Career in Radio and Television with Katherine Jakeways

27th September 2014
Venue: St Peters Church, Oundle
Time: 7.30 - 8.30pm

As an actress, Katherine has appeared in Extras, The Armstrong and Miller show, Episodes, New Tricks, Horrible Histories, Miranda and Sherlock. On Radio 4, she played Mrs Pepys in the long running adaptation of The Diary of Samuel Pepys, as well as writing and appearing in 3 series of North by Northamptonshire, her comedy based in a small market town which you may possibly recognise. After the first series was broadcast the Radio Times said "Katherine Jakeways is the new Victoria Wood. And that’s official. Her character comedy is so acutely observed and so sharp that it’s in danger of causing permanent injury".

Katherine is currently writing 2 new projects for Radio 4 and several television series.  But you may know her best for her performance as Urchin 2 in Prince William School’s 1985 production of Carmen.

Katherine will be in conversation with Radio 2‘s Nick Duncalf. They will be discussing what it is like to be a professional writer, and how to move forward once you’ve written the show you always wanted to write.
