1 – 16 March 2008
Welcome to Oundle’s sixth festival of literature.
We look forward to a fortnight that includes dragons, ghosts, football, mountaineering, war and peace, drama, romance and glamour, poetry, the geography of Britain, fiction, music, history (the horrible kind), Henry (the horrid kind) and trees! Whatever your age or interests, you will have the opportunity to hear firsthand about the experiences and ideas of writers who have made vital contributions to our society and culture.
We thank our sponsors and supporters, especially Oundle School and Vincent Sykes & Higham of Thrapston, and also the businesses and shopkeepers of Oundle who have entered the spirit of the festival with literary window displays. We are also delighted to present joint events with Oundle Amnesty International, Oundle Cinema and Northamptonshire Black History Association.
As part of the 2008 National Year of Reading we will be welcoming over 1800 school children to our Kid Lit events, where they will be inspired by some of our most stimulating children’s authors and illustrators.
As ever we encourage you to participate in our writing and illustrating competitions, poetry and prose open mike, writing workshops and the legendary literary quiz night. For details read on and visit our website www.oundlelitfest.org.uk.
We know you are in for a memorable time!
